CHALLENGE DAY 2014 - BAURU/SP X PETROPOLIS/RJ - 05/28/2014

HISTORY
During the harsh Canadian winter of 1983, when the temperature was 20 degrees below zero, the Mayor suggested an action that required the cooperation of all. The idea proposed that, at 3 p.m., all the lights went blank and all the people went out of the house to walk 15 minutes around the block. It was an invitation to exercise the body.
In addition to encouraging physical activity, the initiative resulted in energy savings that could be calculated by the number of people involved in the activity. In the following year, the experience was shared with the neighboring town, and both made the journey together on the same date and time. He was released the spirit that defined the program of Challenge Day.
The idea had sequence and Challenge Day is now held every year on the last Wednesday of May, around the world, and grows in many cities and in total participants. In 2010, the event celebrated 15 years in Brazil and provided the opportunity for collective action around physical activity for people of the Americas.
HOW IT WORKS
On this day, people of all ages will get involved in a friendly competition between cities of same size trying to move the highest percentage of participants based on the official number of the cities inhabitants.
The competition is only a way to motivate the participation! The “winners” will be the citizens that exercise the social integration, creativity, leadership and communitarian spirit.

LET´S MOVE OUR BODIES!!!!

HISTORY OF FIFA WORLD CUP!!!!

The FIFA World Cup was first held in 1930, when FIFA president Jules Rimet decided to stage an international footballtournament. The inaugural edition, held in Uruguay in 1930, was contested as a final tournament of only 13 teams invited by the organization. Since then, the FIFA World Cup has experienced successive expansions and format remodeling to its current 32-team final tournament preceded by a two-year qualifying process, involving almost 200 teams from all over the world.
