WHAT IS CHALLENGE DAY?
It is a campaign to encourage the practice of regular physical activity to benefit health and takes place annually on the last wednesday of the month of May, through community action. The SESC SP coordinates the event in the Americas since 2000.
Challenge Day was created in Canada and is distributed worldwide by The Association for International Sport for All (TAFISA), an organization that promotes sports for all, based in Germany.
The invitation extends to physical activity at all, involving the public in each city, the institutions of civil society, business, local volunteers and the participants themselves.

 HOW IT WORKS?
On this day, people of all ages will get involved in a friendly competition between cities of same size trying to move the highest percentage of participants during 15 minutes, based on the official number of the cities inhabitants.
The competition is only a way to motivate the participation! The winners will be the citizens that exercise the social integration, creativity, leadership and communitarian spirit.
All sorts of physical activities are effective to be in movement: walking, running, cycling, soccer, basketball, volleyball, tennis, exercises in companies, games and playful activities, dancing, aquatic activities, pilates, yoga, martial arts, athletics and others.

Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, Ecuador, Falkland Islands, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Surinam, United States, Uruguay and Venezuela.
